History of the Team:
The Lone Star Racing Team was formed in 1997, and has competed in the Formula Vee (formerly EP) class since that time. The highlights since that time have included a number of heat wins, 2nd place overall finishes in Ville Marie, Quebec in 1998, and in Dunnville, Ontario in 1999. Set class speed record over 1.25 mile course, 4 laps at 88.994km/h in Ville Marie in 1998. Since the 2001 season, Lone Star Racing has competed in the SST 60 class in addition to the Formula Vee class.

In 2004, we are competing in the full series of the SST 60/Formula 3 class of the APR Powerboat Superleague.

The Boats

The new boat for the team was first ready, and raced, at the Pittsburgh race August 7-8, 2004. It is a new, custom built Scycraft built by Rob Scythes. We'lll get some photos of the boat here soon!

The Formula 3/SST 60 Rogerson hull was the third boat for the team. It is a 14.5 foot tunnel hull of wood construction. For the 2001 season it was raced in the original red and white colours of the former owners, but was painted the proper orange colour for the 2002 season. This is the boat that was raced for the 2003 season as well as the first 3 races of 2004.

Previous Boats:
The second boat for the team was a 14ft Critchfield V bottom, powered by a 1998 60hp Mercury. The boat was painted "Lonestar Racing Orange" (thanks to Rob Scythes at Scycraft Racing), and carried the number 14 of Brian's favourite Indy Car Driver, A.J. Foyt. The first boat for the team was a Voo Doo that the Brian raced for the 1997 and 1998 seasons.
